“For this private residence in Brussels, I designed a bespoke hand-painted watercolour wallpaper that transforms a five-storey staircase into an immersive botanical journey.”

Tatiana was commissioned, for this private residence in Brussels, to create a bespoke wallpaper that transforms a five-storey staircase into an immersive work of art. Spanning approximately four metres in height across each level, the design unfolds as a continuous visual journey, hand-painted entirely in watercolour before being meticulously translated into wallpaper by skilled artisans.

Inspired by romantic gardens and classical architecture, the composition combines elegant colonnades, delicate trees, wildflowers and graceful birds and other animals to create a serene, timeless atmosphere. Soft washes of colour, fine botanical details and subtle cloud motifs lend the mural a dreamlike quality, while the handcrafted watercolour technique preserves the spontaneity and texture of every brushstroke.
