The collaboration
Scenographies & Art Direction | Winter 2024

“In December, I imagined a jewel theatre, curtains drawn, animals as gentle protagonists, and each piece revealed like a scene of ‘La Comédie Précieuse’.”
For the December 2024 edition, Tatiana de Nicolay returned to Christie’s Paris to sign a new scenography, this time with a more theatrical spirit, deep red drapery, painted architectures, and a poetic world of animals that turns the visit into a staged promenade. The concept, titled La Comédie Précieuse, frames the jewels as characters in a quiet performance, revealed with rhythm, surprise and elegance.

At the heart of the sale, a luminous collection from a close acquaintance of the Monegasque princely family evokes Monte Carlo and the Côte d’Azur, with pieces by Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Cartier, while an exceptional ensemble by Jean Vendome adds a more sculptural touch. The scenography brings these worlds together so the jewels feel both radiant and full of life, as if just revealed.
